Bakersfield Mayor Endorses Phillip Peters for Supervisor

BAKERSFIELD- Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh has announced her endorsement in the run for First District Supervisor of Kern County. Goh has joined a growing list of supporters backing Phillip Peters for the job.
Announcing her endorsement, Mayor Goh said, “Phillip Peters understands the issues facing Kern County and has the vision and drive to help lead us into the future.”
Goh has served as Bakersfield Mayor since being elected in 2016. She served on the Board of Supervisors prior.
Peters, reacting to the news of the endorsement stated, “I am honored to have Mayor Goh’s support in my run as Supervisor. With her years of experience and knowledge of both Kern County and Bakersfield, Mayor Goh will be an invaluable resource and will help ensure strong communication between the City and County.”
Peters is a lifelong resident of Kern County. As a former Kern High School District Trustee, he served from 2014 to 2018. He is also the district director for Supervisor Gleason. While on the Kern High School Board, Peters focused on improving access to career technical education, providing more choice in children’s education, empowering local educators, and ensuring accountability and transparency at all levels of education.
Phillip lives in Bakersfield with his wife and son. He is an avid sportsman and woodworker.
